ZTC & LTC Classes

The college strives to ensure that the ZTC and LTC designations are accurate; however, under some circumstances, faculty may have to adjust selection of instructional materials and this can affect course material costs. It may also be necessary to change instructors. Replacement faculty have academic freedom to choose instructional materials regardless of costs and are not obligated to use free course materials selected by an instructor previously assigned to the class.

English Literature Through the 18th Century

This course surveys writers in English literature from the Anglo-Saxon era to the eighteenth century. It covers works of at least two of the three most influential writers in the language (Chaucer, Shakespeare, Milton) as well as their historical and cultural backgrounds. Students read plays; epic, religious, romantic, and satiric poetry; ballads; and non-fiction prose, including essays and biography. Eras include medieval, Renaissance, and Enlightenment. UC CREDIT LIMITATION: Credit for LIT 260 or LIT 260H. C-ID ENGL-160.
